The Korean Seventh-day Adventist church in Boston, MA accepted the call of the Southern New England Conference to help the victims and families of the earthquake in Turkey.
Pastor Mintae Kim and his church members organized a Korean food festival in the parking lot of their church on April 2, 2023, and in four hours--from 11 am – 3 pm---raised $7100 to send to ADRA to support relief work in Turkey.
Church members all volunteered their time and different talents to work together to make the event successful. From buying and preparing ingredients, promoting the event in their community, schools, churches, and the Southern New England Conference, to preparing all the food, and setting up the tables – everyone played a part in this event.
Some of the delicious items served were Bibimbap, Japchae, Dumplings, Korean pancakes, Manju, Kimchi, Gimbap and Tteokokki. Food samples were given which motivated people to buy food to eat on site or take home.
The Korean church is very grateful for the support of the community and the Southern New England Conference, represented by Frankie Vazquez, director of Community Services and Shawn Santana, director of Communications.
Thanks to the Korean SDA Church for being the hands and feet of Jesus here and abroad!
